AFTH Mobile Music Machine Fundraiser
Artz for the Harp is a nonprofit public benefit organization serving students throughout Georgia and the southeast. To date we have served over 5600 students. Our mission is to provide harps for lessons, harp music enrichment and music therapy programs to students of all ages, who need us most, to foster a positive creative outlet of artistic expression, to students through contemporary music experiences, while strengthening communities.
Artz for the Harp, firmly believes, music education is an indispensable part to the development of the whole child, and that all children should be provided access to the emotional, social, physical and intellectual benefits of music. We furthermore believe, music has the ability to heal and provides a positive outlet of self-expression through the arts, while creating growth in the areas of self-esteem, responsibility, and discipline.
We provide (AFTH) arts enrichment classes to youth 7yrs to 18 yr with limited access or exposure to harp group enrichment in title I schools, community centers, healthcare facilities, and faith based organizations. Our second tier, provides services for seniors 55+ at senior centers, retirement communities and assisted living facilities.
We will provide a music foundation to students of all ages with or without prior music training.
We will provide individual and group harp and music instruction developmentally appropriate for students’ current level.
We will provide music enrichment support to Georgia communities, connected to the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
We will nurture and foster creativity and provide outlets for artistic self-expression.
We will provide students with unique career pathways
We will provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students of Artz for the Harp.
Services & Needs
In order to reach those who need us most, we offer: subsidized, sliding scale rates, and scholarships. We provide instruments for group instruction, and provide lessons on site to reduce transportation barriers. We offer virtual & in-Person program options that safely adhere to the CDC guidelines to keep our youth and seniors safe!
Due to the growth of the AFTH Virtual Academy through the pandemic, (thankfully) we are in dire need of additional instruments for our homeschool programs as well as our in person fall programs. We need additional PPE supplies as we are back in the communities and a mobile music bus to deliver our programs on a larger scale.
Thanks to the support of our amazing sponsors and donors, we have been able to offer free AFTH Exposure Workshops to libraries, community centers, YMCA's, Boys & Girls Clubs of Georgia, and Title I Schools. These partnerships allow us to reach a wide array of students of all ages throughout Georgia and the Southeast.
Beyond our work with the youth and seniors, AFTH works with young adults from six Georgia Universities/ Colleges to provide paid and credit based internships for fall/spring/summer. Selected interns have years of experience in music or are music education, music therapy or music performance majors or minors. We also work with students in other fields that would benefit from working with a nonprofit organization.
